{"id":10021,"date":"2021-12-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-660507-2882338.cloudwaysapps.com\/we-support-a-kenyan-school-and-the-swedish-cancer-society\/"},"modified":"2024-05-16T11:49:10","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T10:49:10","slug":"we-support-a-kenyan-school-and-the-swedish-cancer-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aaro.com\/en\/we-support-a-kenyan-school-and-the-swedish-cancer-society\/","title":{"rendered":"We support a Kenyan school and the Swedish Cancer Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We are happy and proud to be able to make a difference.<\/strong><br \/>As a tradition, AARO is donating to a school for orphans in Kenya, as a substitute for sending out Christmas presents to our customers.<\/p>\n<p>It started in 2019 when we chose to support a school in <strong>Nchiru Children&#8217;s Village,<\/strong> founded by <strong>Father Francis Limo Riwa<\/strong> more than 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>During these three years, our donations have contributed to sleeping mattresses and blankets, clothing, food, medicine, computers and the opportunity to expand the children&#8217;s village&#8217;s self-sufficiency with agriculture and animal husbandry.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 grant is focusing on increasing the food production to benefit the whole village with around 900 children, through establishment of solar panel-generated sprinkler systems for irrigation, which provides increased food security, as well as jobs for people in the area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Swedish Cancer Society<\/strong><br \/>In addition to AARO&#8217;s donation to the school and children&#8217;s village in Kenya in 2021, AARO&#8217;s Swedish organisation is also donating a gift for the benefit of the Swedish Cancer Society&#8217;s work with cancer research.<\/p>\n<p>Merry Christmas &amp; Happy New Year!
